In 35 games with the Bisons in the International League, the 23-year-old Lopez hit .225 with a home run and 14 RBIs.

Third baseman Matt Chapman will return to the Toronto Blue Jays roster, but shortstop Bo Bichette will have to miss at least one game.

Chapman, who missed Thursday’s 10-2 loss to the Baltimore Orioles, has been sidelined for four games due to swelling in his left wrist. However, he played games on Tuesday and Wednesday, hitting three hits in eight appearances, including two homers.

Bichette was dropped from the starting lineup for Friday’s game against the New York Yankees after sustaining a foot injury in Thursday’s game.

Jays manager Charlie Montoyo isn’t sure if Bichette will be eligible to be used as an emergency hitter.
