I’m obviously quite disappointed not to be able to race in the country in front of the Canadian amateurs in Langley. I hope I can get back to training soon enough and prepare for the rest of the season.De Grasse said in a statement on Tuesday.

Several other high-profile athletes will be absent from their National Championships, including decathlete Damian Warner, runners Moh Ahmed, Justyn Knight and Gabriela DeBues-Stafford, and wheelchair athlete Brent Lakatos.

The World Athletics Championships will be held July 15-24 in Eugene, Oregon.
