Vancouver and Berlin will respectively host the 2023 and 2024 editions of the Laver Cup, a competition between teams from Europe and the rest of the world created in 2017, organizers announced on Wednesday.
The 6th edition of the Laver Cup will take place from September 22-24, 2023 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver and the 7th from September 20-22, 2024 at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin.
This tournament is organized by the company Team 8 managed by Roger Federer and his agent Tony Godsick. It opposes, on a principle reminiscent of the Ryder Cup of golf, two teams of 6 players. One of these teams, under the captaincy of Swede Björn Borg, is made up of European players, the other, under the captaincy of American John McEnroe, is made up of players from the rest of the world.
The 5th edition this year will take place in London from September 23 to 25. The teams have not yet been fully announced, but Federer and Rafael Nadal are expected to defend the European colors, while the Canadian Félix Auger-Aliassime, the American Taylor Fritz and the Argentinian Diego Schwartzman have been announced for the opposing team.
