The player’s agent, Safarrah Lawson, was the first to broadcast the news Wednesday via his Twitter account.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Baltimore Ravens linebacker Jaylon Ferguson. The family asks for your prayers and privacy at this difficult time,” wrote Lawson.

The agent highlighted the qualities of the linebacker off the pitch: “He was a wonderful boy, full of love and life. He will be remembered not only as a great footballer, but as a great father, son, brother and friend. family. for your constant prayers “.

Jaylon Ferguson was born in Zachary, Louisiana. He was selected in the third round of the 2019 Draft by the Ravens after shining in college football with Louisiana Tech.

In three years with the Baltimore Ravens, Ferguson has played 38 games in which he recorded 67 tackles and 4.5 quarterback sacks.

During the team’s preseason this year, the linebacker received praise from his team’s defensive coordinator, Mike MacDonald, for taking on the starting role this season.

“He’s doing a great job right now. He’s competing. The techniques we teach are a little different than what he knows, but once he learns them he’s got off to a great start,” MacDonald said last May.
