The coach of the Unión de Santa Fe, the Uruguayan Gustavo Munúa, confirmed on Wednesday that he has Covid-19 and that he will not be able to lead the team in next Friday’s match against Boca Juniors in La Bombonera.
DT himself said in an interview that he had released a Uruguayan radio station that he tested positive for the coronavirus last Monday.
“Last week we had three positive players at Covid-19, we were confused with this problem”Munúa told Sport 890 radio, referring to the cases of footballers Diego Polenta, Juan Ignacio Nardoni and Sebastián Jaurena.
The coach will not be able to drive “Tatengue” in next Friday’s match at 21:30 against Boca in La Bombonera, but would be able to travel to Uruguay for the first leg of the round of 16 of the South America’s Cup against Nacional de Montevideo .
“It will be a special match for me”, acknowledged the former goalkeeper who started playing in “Bolso” at the age of 8 and won five Uruguayan championships.
