Argentine tennis player Lourdes Carlé made it through the third round of the Wimbledon tournament, the English Grand Slam on grass this Wednesday, after beating Taiwanese En-Shuo Liang, while Nadia Podoroska was eliminated in the second round of the ranking.
Carlé, from Buenos Aires, number 152 on the WTA rankings, defeated En-Shuo Liang (195) 6-0, 3-6 and 6-1 in 1 hour and 30 minutes of play, and will now face Swede Mirjam Bjorklund (123 ) for a spot on the main draw of the British Grand Slam, which starts on Monday.
The born in Daireaux, in the south central province of Buenos Aires, 22 years ago, is playing her first qualy of a Grand Slam tournament and today she beat Kateryna Baindl (149) 3-6, 6-1 and 6-3 in the opening round.
