The Argentine soccer team improved its position in the FIFA world rankings and finished third, above the world champion, France, as evidenced today by the update of that ranking.

Brazil remains in first place, followed by Belgium, and the team led by Lionel Messi rose to the podium after winning the Grand Final against Italy at Wembley on 1 June.

For their part, four-time world champions Germany replaced Mexico from 11th place but still failed to make it into the top ten, a situation that prevented them from being seeded in the Qatar 2022 World Cup draw. .

The order of the top 12 teams is as follows four months after the World Cup is as follows:

1) Brazil; 2) Belgium; 3) Argentina; 4) France; 5) England; 6) Spain; 7) Italy; 8) Netherlands; 9) Portugal; 10) Denmark; 11) Germany and 12) Mexico.

The rivals of Argentina, away

When it comes to Argentina’s favoritism in Qatar 2022 World Cup Group C, history has a lot to do with it but also the present of the selections that he will have to face in the Middle East. And a review of the FIFA ranking confirms this.

That said, Mexico is the highest-placed rival on the list, at position 12, albeit down. Tata Martino’s men were in 9th place but their slow pace in recent friendlies caused them to lose several positions for statistical consideration.

Much behind Robert Lewandowski’s Poland, also suffering from poor results (in his case, in the League of Nations), stable in 26th place, behind teams like Japan or Morocco. And finally there is the case of Saudi Arabia, the Asian team that will mark the debut of those led by Scaloni and is the weakest in the area: it is in 53rd place and down, given that it was 49th in March. .
