Swimmer narrowly saved from drowning at FINA Worlds

Andrea Fuentes prevented a tragedy by reacting very quickly at the World Swimming Championships.

The American coach realized something was wrong when she saw artistic swimmer Anita Alvarez suddenly sink to the bottom of the pool during her free skate on Wednesday.

Fuentes, dressed in Team USA uniform, didn’t hesitate to dive in. She joined Alvarez, and another person came to help her quickly get her out of the pool.

Alvarez, who has competed in the Olympics twice, was unconscious.

It was the best performance of her career, she had just pushed all her limits, and unfortunately she found themjoked Fuentes.

Alvarez, who was immediately treated by doctors, felt much better on Thursday.
