With an eye on the Copa Libertadores, Talleres will receive Central Córdoba this Saturday at the Mario Kempes stadium in a duel in the fifth round of the Professional Football League starting at 15:30, directed by Andrés Merlos and broadcast by TNT Sports.
Next Wednesday’s duel against Colón al Kempes for the first leg of the first knockout rounds of the Libertadores is the center of attention at the moment for the cast of Cordoba, who accumulated three days without a win in the Professional League and who on Wednesday did not show a good performance in the match that ended up beating Chaco For Ever on penalties for the Argentine Cup.
So, for Saturday’s match against railroad the Portuguese Pedro Caixinha will reserve several players who usually are owners. Among those who will add minutes will be Julio Buffarini, who returned to the club after 12 years and already participated in the match against Chaco For Ever.
Far from cup dreams, Central Córdoba have more earthly issues to address, such as adding points to increase their average and not having fears at the end of the season (today they are only two units from the red zone).
After the historic victory in La Bombonera on the second date of the tournament, the team led by Sergio Rondina has stumbled against Banfield and San Lorenzo, so they will present themselves in Córdoba with the urgency of reckoning again.
