Welsh international Gareth Bale has decided his future will be in Major League Soccer (MLS) in the United States, accepting the offer from Los Angeles FC after being released at Real Madrid after nine seasons.

The Spanish press reported that the 32-year-old striker will sign “his new contract until June 2023, with the possibility of extending the link for another campaign”.

Bale, whose constitution will be announced next week, will thus join the Italian Giorgio Chiellinithe former Juventus defender and the Argentine Franco Escobar (formerly Newell’s), who have already signed their respective contracts with the Californian franchise.

Los Angeles FC finished second in the latest edition of the MLS and also qualified as a finalist at the Concacaf Champions Cup.

Bale, who will play for his country at the Qatar 2022 World Cup, said he chose to play in American football to “have continuity and be in the best possible shape. The ideal is to play to get in top form, but I feel also that I will never lose my qualities with the ball, “said the former English Tottenham player.
