A couple of hours before River took the field to receive Lanús at Monumental, Marcelo Gallardo’s team celebrated not one but two goals: the confirmation that they will be able to count on Rodrigo Aliendro and Lucas Beltrán in the first knockout round of Copa Libertadores, which starts this Wednesday.

It was thanks to the intervention of the Argentine footballers that both Beltrán and Aliendro were released by Colón so that River could add them to the list of round of 16. The race has come to this point because Sabalero, who faces Talleres, could meet Núñez’s team in the quarter-finals if the band’s team beat Vélez. And the scales ended up tipping for the more powerful, as almost always.

According to what was announced by the corridors of the Monumentale, River had to spend a million dollars for the journey corresponding to half of the Alex Vigo pass, the extern who came from Santa Fe and now works in Independiente.

On the other hand, the Colombian Miguel Borgia He was on stand-by, he is not on the ground but his name will not appear among the possible squads for the two matches against Vélez, first at Liniers and then at home. Something similar to that of Luis Suárez, who is still awaiting the Uruguayan’s decision.

The reassurance for Gallardo is that Julián Álvarez will be at number 9, at least until now, because then Cordovan will have to pack their bags and go to Manchester City.

The conflict for Allendro

Aliendro traveled to Buenos Aires after the elimination of Colón in the Argentine Cup against Patronato on penalties, in the definition of which the midfielder missed the shot. And she met the members of the Guilds.

It happens like this Aliendro’s contract with Colón expires on the 30th of this month. Y one day before Colón will play against Talleres de Córdoba in the first leg of the round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores. And the Santa Fe club wanted to keep him on the list in good faith and for him to play that game. However, the footballer wanted to end his contract with Sabalero so that Núñez’s institute could score him in continental competition.

River waited for Aliendro’s move and ended up winning. As the deadline for changes to the Copa Libertadores list in good faith expired today, Saturday, it was not even necessary to provisionally register it (confirmation of the payroll, by Conmebol regulation, could arrive on Monday).

Aliendro’s situation was similar to that of Lucas Beltrán, who returned from Colón this week to train with the team led by Marcelo Gallardo. However, there is a substantial difference: the forward already had a contract with River and was on loan at Colón. Although the Santa Fe club had planned to leave him on the Cup list, Núñez already knew that Conmebol had authorized him to participate in the round of 16, which will be played on 6 July, since from the 1st of that month the repechage clause could be performed.

A fight from below

In the last few hours, after Rodrigo Aliendro signed the agreement with River, a video of an interview began to circulate in which the midfielder talks about his daily struggle to reach the First Division. “I always say that I hardly ever played in the Inferiores, I was always a substitute, most of the time they didn’t call me and I went, went, went and never got tired. They gave the list on Friday and I wasn’t there. And I came back to my home sad after taking three buses. And I told my old lady they didn’t call me. And she said ‘it doesn’t matter, you’ll have a date next weekend.’ And so it has been all along.

And he continued: “I have never been a starter in the Inferiores. I only started playing more often when I was 18, when I was in the Fifth Division. Then I did another two years of Quarto and I was approaching the age to do a professional contract and it didn’t happen. And when I was six months away from turning 21, the age limit to become a professional or devote myself to something else, I was lucky enough to make my debut. Even if they didn’t put me in for almost a year.

Aliendro made his debut in Chacarita but did not take place and went on loan to Ituzaingó, who was in Prima C. There he gained momentum and his career started to grow. He returned to the “Funebrero”, then moved on to Atlético Tucumán and then to Colón. Now comes the great opportunity to play in the River.
