The river drums rang again in the Monumental.
That football ceremony that true fans and Marcelo Gallardo himself missed so much – which would have influenced the motorization of the nightlife – this time was at the head of the first 400 members – all registered in Tu Lugar en el Monumental, with a single validated card by Renaper – who came together for this publication and who were led by a group of around 50 hired professional musicians.
The idea was that different groups, movements and affiliates of the club would provide members to play instruments, which will be kept in the monumental structures, but they decided to give it another seriousness. Not a small fact: the music will no longer be played from the upper Sívori but from the center. The determination is linked to a strategic plan projected into the future, given that once the new Monumental is inaugurated, the popular ones will be located in the lower springs of Sívori and Centenario (the middle and upper ones will become stables).

There was extreme security. It’s that once the club broke the news, the bars sent threatening messages.
Predictably, the official bar – still located in the middle of the Sívori Alta – and the dissident bar – go to the Centenario Alta – did not like this move. The former because they see their power increasingly reduced, especially after the arrest of one of the leaders, Héctor Caverna Godoy, and of several leaders of Los Borrachos del Tablón. And the others, those of the West, because they believed that, based on the weakness of their antagonist group, they could take power from the stands.
Both industries feel that space and power continue to be taken away from them with this decision by River’s leadership that the drums are played by true partners. So they resorted to intimidation. Sources from the club and security confirmed the threats to Clarin. But they ensure that they are unwilling to back down with the new measure.
In this sense, the line of work that Rodolfo D’Onofrio had started continues, who, before leaving the presidency of the club, supported the idea of a festive tribune. And Jorge Brito, the current president, clarified his position this year after the official bar fired maritime rockets in the Superclásico with Boca, which motivated the determination to add new people, identified as barrabrava, to the right to admission.
The percussion sounded, as the Doll wanted. And without bars. This is no small problem, of course.
