Boca Juniors will play tonight in San Pablo against Corinthians, in the first leg of the first knockout round of the Copa Libertadores de América.
The match will be played at the Arena Corinthians stadium from 9.30 pm, with the refereeing of the Chilean Roberto Tobar and broadcast by Fox Sports and Star +. The VAR will be headed by the Venezuelan Juan Soto and the Paraguayan Eduardo Cardozo.
The rematch will be on Tuesday 5 July at the Bombonera and the winner will face Flamengo from Brazil or Deportes Tolima from Colombia in the quarter-finals.
The “Xeneize”, six times winner of the Copa Libertadores, begins the decisive phase with the illusion of being crowned after 15 years of drought in the greatest South American football tournament.
Boca will then play again at San Pablo, where only two months ago they received one of the hardest blows of Sebastián Battaglia’s cycle, losing 2-0 to the same rival, while the rematch ended on a tie with Bombonera.
For the Copa Libertadores, Boca have not yet managed to beat Corinthians in four games played as a guest, with two defeats and two draws.
Furthermore, the Brazilian team have lost only one of the last seven games (three wins and three draws) of the Libertadores against Argentine rivals.
The last defeat was on 2 May 2018 against Independiente 2-1 in Sao Paulo, in the group stage.
