Paris Saint-Germain and Argentine Mauricio Pochettino have reached an agreement after two weeks of negotiations, according to the French sports newspaper L’Équipe, which assures that the club will pay the coach 10 million euros for the termination of the contract.
The end of these discussions will officially open the doors to the arrival of Christophe Galtier to coach the main French team.
The agreement between PSG and Pochettino united them until June 2023, so both sides had to find a common point.
The Parisian management insisted on negotiations to reduce the compensation established for the departure of the coach, who for his part saw no reason to do a favor to the club that asked him to leave on 10 June.
According to L’Équipe, the intermediate point was an envelope with 10 million euros for the coach and his team, to cover the salaries corresponding to the 2022-2023 season.
The newspaper assures that the agreement has already been signed on Thursday.
A negotiation that opens the doors to Galtier’s arrival from Nice, after both teams signed a multi-million euro pact last week to anticipate the southern club’s manager’s departure to join PSG for at least two years. EFE
