The Citizen groupthe conglomerate of companies led by Qatari billionaire Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, will add a new club to his portfolio: Palermo from Italycurrently in Serie B, as reported by that country’s Sky Sport.
The historic team from southern Italy has sold 80% of the share capital to City in 13 million euros. The remaining 20% will remain in the hands of Dario Mirri, the current owner of the club. all of this would be confirmed at a press conference next week.
Palermo had a relatively recent history in Serie A, until relegation after the 16/17 season. The club strengthened at the beginning of the century when it was acquired by the entrepreneur Maurizio Zamparini. He got promotion to Serie A in 2004 and major footballers like the Uruguayan have gone through the entity Edinson Cavani and the Argentines Javier Pastore Y paolo dibala.
