South Korea snapped a towel after just six ends. Gushue’s team led 6-0 after just two ends.

Team Gushue bounced back from a 10-6 defeat to the United States.

Maple Leaf lost by five points after five ends.

It’s hard to swallow, but we remain in control of what happens to us, says the Canadian skip. We can still finish first if we keep winning.

In fact, wins against Scotland (6-4) and Denmark (2-8) on Friday will allow Gushue to finish in first place and get a place in the medal stage.

The top 2 will be able to bye in the semi-finals, which will take place on Saturday night.

Medals are at stake on Sunday at Orleans Arena.

Based in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Gushue, Mark Nichols, Brett Gallant and Geoff Walker will not refuse a bit of a break.

Just days after winning bronze at the Beijing Games, they took part in the Canadian Championships in Lethbridge, heading for a fourth title.
