Boca Juniors today receive Corinthians, from Brazil, in search of qualification for the quarter-finals of the Copa Libertadores de América, their biggest goal of the year and ever.
The match, the revenge of the 0-0 draw last week at San Pablo, will be played from 21:30 at Bombonera, with the arbitration of Uruguayan Andrés Matonte and Fox Sports television.
In the event of a tie, the series will be defined with shots from the spot since from this edition the away goal is not considered a play-off factor, even if in this case they were not scored in the first leg.
The key winner between “Xeneize” and “Timao” will meet Flamengo, from Brazil, or Deportes Tolima, from Colombia in the quarter-finals, who will meet this Wednesday in Rio de Janeiro with an advantage over the Brazilian team that won 1 -0 as a guest on the outward journey.
Boca scored a valuable draw in the first game with an outstanding performance from Agustín Rossi, who saved a penalty, and a good performance from the team in general, who had chances to score and even spawned Bruno Méndez’s questionable play which both the Chilean referee Roberto Tobar for the expulsion of the VAR.
Technical director Sebastián Battaglia, in his first experience as DT in Copa Libertadores, will recover left-back Frank Fabra, who has completed the suspension date and will replace Agustín Sández in what will be the only variant.
