San Lorenzo beat Boca 2-1 at the Nuevo Gasómetro stadium, with goals from Agustín Giay and Adam Bareiro, while Marcos Rojo scored for the visit, as part of the seventh round of the LPF.

However, beyond the defeat, there was a gesture that all Boca World talks about and that feeds the internal crisis that the team is experiencing with the Football Council led by Juan Román Riquelme.

After the elimination in Libertadores, the first to fly to Xeneize was Sebastián Battaglia, who, less than 24 hours after penalties against Corinthians, discovered that he was no longer the manager.

The team was taken over by Reserve DT Hugo Ibarra and one of his first decisions was to change the tactical approach, eliminating a striker to add a midfielder, but what generated the most noise was that Izquierdoz became a substitute.

This decision caused a stir and there was much talk of an intern among the campus referents with the Football Council, a climate that the patron Bermúdez recognized during an interview.

This Saturday, as if it were necessary to add the symptoms of bad weather, Marcos Rojo headed the 1-0 and the party of the alumni was strong: he took off the captain’s ribbon and ran to hug Izquierdoz.

Then it was a win for Ciclón, who played better and fought harder than Xeneize. To make matters worse, Rojo ended an afternoon with a negative balance after committing a penalty (which San Lorenzo missed) and could have been sent off but referee Espinoza seemed to spare his life.
