Francisco Cerúndolo and Sebastian Báez animate the ATP 250 final in Bastad, Sweden this Sunday, where there will be another an Argentine champion. The game is played from 9 am in our country and is broadcast exclusively by Star +.
The two young representatives of the Albiceleste Next Gen knocked down two pre-ranked men on Saturday to access the final of the traditional tournament played on clay.
Cerúndolo opened the day with a 6-3, 6-2 win against fifth-seeded Spaniard Pablo Carreño Busta, who had just crushed Diego Schwartzman.

Then, Báez scored his first win against a top ten by beating Russian Andrey Rublev 6-2, 6-4, eighth in the ATP rankings and second-seeded on Swedish clay.
Báez, 21, will play his third final of the season all on clay. He reached the definition of the Santiago Open and won his first title on tour by dedicating himself to Estoril.

“I think I played better than yesterday,” Baez said of the three-set win over Dominic Thiem on Friday. “I am happy and we are going for the title”.
Cerúndolo, 23, will play in the second final of his career and the first since losing to compatriot Diego Schwartzman in the Buenos Aires final last year.
Like Báez, Cerúndolo took his first win against a Top 10 in Bastad after surprising Norwegian Casper Ruud, finalist of the last French Open, in the round of 16.

The Argentines have never faced each other in ATP tournaments but have three precedents for Challengers and Futures with a 2-1 draw in favor of Báez, both triumphs achieved last year.
It will be the second clearly “albiceleste” final in Bastad after the one that Mariano Zabaleta of Tandil beat his friend Gastón Gaudio in 2004.
Whoever raises the trophy this Sunday will become the third Argentine champion of the Swiss Open after Zabaleta (2003 and 2004) and Carlos Berlocq (2013).
