Boca Juniors footballers Darío Benedetto and Martín Payero trained differently this morning at the Ezeiza stadium due to physical discomfort and will follow their evolution, to see if they can be next Sunday against the Patronato in Paraná, at 18:00 , for the professional league.

Benedetto, who trained regularly yesterday, received a blow to his left ankle at the end of training, where he came from a sprain for which he did not play in the 3-1 victory against Estudiantes de La Plata.

The striker did not train today, he was in the gym and it is doubtful he can play this weekend. If he does not arrive, Luis Vázquez would return in his place.

Meanwhile, the steering wheel Martin Payeroone of this semester’s incorporations, which before “Pincha” had minutes for the first time in the final part of the match, suffered a trauma to his right knee and will be tested to confirm or rule out an injury.

This Thursday, at the Bombonera football training (Boca returns to that mode after three years), the possible team will be known which, if Benedetto were not there, would be the same team that defeated the one led by Ricardo Zielinski.

The eleven of Boca would be formed with Agustín Rossi; Luis Advíncula, Carlos Zambrano, Marcos Rojo and Frank Fabra; Guillermo “Pol” Fernández, Alan Varela and Juan Ramírez; Oscar Romero, Luis Vazquez and Sebastian Villa.

On Friday the team will work on Ezeiza’s property and coach Hugo Ibarra will speak at a press conference at the end of training.

He will do so in the same place on Saturday morning and in the afternoon he will travel on a charter flight to Paraná, from where he will return by the same route as soon as the match against the Patronato is over.

The continuity of Rossi

In another order, Agustín Rossi and his representative Miguel González study the proposal made yesterday by Juan Román Riquelme, vice president of Boca and head of football, to renew his record, whose contract expires on June 30, 2023.

One of the Football Council members, Jorge “Patrón” Bermúdez, said last night that “Boca has made a gigantic offer to Agustín Rossi to renew his contract”, and now we will see what determination the player will make.

According to the player’s environment it is better than what he was given in the first place, beyond the fact that it is still far from what the goalkeeper asks, who will now talk about it with the family – soon be a father for the first time, to see what the next best steps are for your career.

Since the idea of the management is that Rossi continues in the club, also projecting him as one of the future managers of the squad and one of the foundations to put together the team that will go to the Copa Libertadores 2023, attempts are made to smooth out the edges and advance in its continuity with this new offer.

He would be given a contract equal to the one Carlos Tevez had in his last year at Boca, with one dollar at the official price and a term of four years (it would be until December 2026).

After trying to get closer to defining Rossi’s situation, the management will try to enter into negotiations with Javier García and Diego González, whose contract expires at the end of the year.

And also with the current pair of starting defenders, Carlos Zambrano and Marcos Rojo, who on December 31st have an option for the exit clause.
