A year after his arrival at River Plate, Braian Romero leaves the Núñez institute to continue his career in Brazilian football, more precisely at Inter de Porto Alegre, where Argentines Gabriel Mercado, Víctor Cuesta and Fabricio Bustos play. .
The forward, who had played well in Defense and Justice, with great performances and winning two international titles such as the Copa Sudamericana and the Recopa Sudamericana, arrived in Marcelo Gallardo’s team with the illusion of establishing himself as the 9th goal scorer after the departure of Rafael Santos Borré.
The one born in San Isidro 31 years ago, however, never managed to establish himself in that role and, overshadowed by the figure of Julián Álvarez, had to be content with having fewer minutes and making his statistics increasingly weak. This 2022, for example, barely scored 3 goals in 25 games.
After the arrival of the Colombian Borja, an insistent request from Gallardo, Romero has definitely lost consideration in the eleven holders, so it is believed that this detachment from Inter is a decision endorsed by all the parties involved in the negotiation.
Romero has already played in Brazilian football, in the 2019/2020 season, when he was loaned by Independiente to play for Atletico Paranaense. From there he returned to the Rojo and then ended up at the Halcón de Varela, where he lived his happiest days, the ones he will try to have now in the “gaúcha” area of the neighboring town.
Although the details on the negotiation have not yet been specified, what is clear is that there is a total agreement for the transfer of Braian to Inter, a team that, in addition to the national team, is playing in the Copa Sudamericana.
