This Friday London High Court resolution released on scandal involving Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardywives of famous English footballers.
The conflict arose in October 2019, after the former Manchester United player’s partner revealed that a publication he made privately on his Instagram account had leaked to the tabloid newspaper. “The sun”.
From there, he designed a covert operation, gradually limiting his followers to a single account, that of Vardy, and posting fake stories. These “fakes”, as they are commonly called, appeared in the media, eventually confirming Coleen Rooney’s suspicion: her friend Rebekah Vardy was the one who spread the problems of her private life to the press.

Public opinion across the UK has been waiting for this story, as have the media, who have done full coverage under the name of Wagatha Christie in a play on words with the famous author of black novels, Agatha Christie, and the word “Wags”, with which in Europe they call football couples. The case was brought to justice.
Even if Rebecca denied the allegations and stated on numerous occasions that several people had access to her account, as well as being hurt by threats received when she was pregnant and starting legal proceedings for “defamation”, the complainant was clear about what was going to end. And they went to trial.
“I wasn’t looking for anything; what I wanted was to stop the person who was leaking my private information “, testified in court. And justice ruled in his favor, condemning the accused to pay £ 3.5 millionabout 4.2 million dollars.

In resolving the case, the judge found that a message from Coleen Rooney on his social networks was “substantially true” and did not constitute a “defamation” offense.
In that 2019 message, accused Vardy of being the source of three reports published in the tabloid “The Sun” with false details about his private life, which he denied and for which he sued the wife of the former star of the English team.
The High Court judge found it “likely” that it was Caroline Watt, her agent, who leaked the false information to the “Sun”, with your full knowledge and acquiescence, including screenshots of the private account.
