Independent elections: lists can make changes to their members

The election date brought relief to all areas of Independiente. The members have asked with soul and body to be able to vote and that they will do so on Sunday 2 October. Sure, two months of intense political movements and campaigns. In this sense, a new meeting took place this Tuesday between the Electoral Council and the representatives of the three lists that will participate in the elections: the official Independent Group and the Traditional Independent Opposition Group (which represents the Unitary Independent Front) and Independent Persons. In that conclave it was established by the Council that free changes in the lists will be allowed until 12 Septemberdate of delivery of documents.

This has found opposition with their contrary opinion as their trinomials are confirmed. Instead, the ruling party needs to rearm itself in the face of the victims of its main candidate, Hugo Moianoof vices Marcelo González Y Manuela Sanchez and the secretary general Hector Maldonado.

Fabiano Doman will continue to lead the Independent Unity e Claudio Rudecindo of Independent Persons. But this determination by the Board of Directors allows the management team to confirm their candidate, of which there are still no signs, less than a month from the date of the vote. A letter was presented from Doman’s list in which it was expressed that the lists should not be subject to changes (except in cases of force majeure) since the Justice had ordered the suspension of the electoral act last December.

For its part, the ruling party is immersed in intense training to elect its new candidates. Historians of the Independent Association try to decide without giving a voice to the new ones who had joined at the end of 2021. There are continuous meetings and talks, but there is still no consensus for a name that meets the conditions to succeed Moyano. Will it be Sergio Palazzo, strongman of La Bancaria? Or will another figure of weight emerge?
