In recent days there has been a lot of talk about the possible arrival of Edinson Cavani a Mouth, but the 35-year-old forward has decided to say no to the possibility of wearing the blue shirt. The player’s desire would be to continue playing in European football, although in the next few hours he could receive a call from Penarol from Uruguay.

The possibility arises after some sayings by Leo Ramos, current Aurinegro coach, in the Uruguayan media. The 52-year-old has said he wants Cavani and has also added Martin Cáceres to his wish list. “I’m going to talk to them, to try to persuade them to come with us. The call could be in the next few hours.”Ramos said.

This situation is very reminiscent of what happened with Luis Suarez just a few days ago. The former Barcelona was the great illusion of RiverIndeed, the same player after the elimination of River at the hands of Vélez in the Copa Libertadores ensured that, if the Millionaire had gone to the quarter-finals, he would have been a player of the club. Eventually, his incorporation failed and he ended up coming to Nacional and fulfilling the dream of his fans who mobilized social networks for the attacker’s arrival.

Peñarol seems to want to repeat the formula of his classic, but with Cavani. The idea would be to try the former Manchester United with the possibility of being at home and facing the preparation for the World Cup there. Although Valencia and Villareal would be interested in staying with the striker and the attacker’s intentions would be to continue playing in Europe, Carbonero’s proposal aims to mobilize the player and agree to play in Uruguay.

Cavani’s career

Cavani’s career began in 2005 playing in the Danube, where he scored 9 goals in 25 games. In 2007 he made the leap to Europe, when he was signed by Palermo and with the Sicilian team he played 109 games – spread over 4 seasons – scoring 34 goals.

His next club would be Napoli, where he did really well and signed impressive statistics. There were 104 games in which he was present and 78 goals he scored. For the 2013/2014 season he was acquired by Paris Saint-Germain, who paid him 64 million euros, but Cavani fully justified its value.. In total, he has played for 7 seasons, he has been present in 200 games and has put the ball in the net 138 times.

His last club was Manchester United, where he has played the last two seasons, but it has not lived up to the expectations that were placed on him. It is true that the present and the team’s performances have not been the best, but the Uruguayan has only played 41 games and scored 12 goals.

Peñarol wants to do what Boca couldn’t and bring Cavani to South American football after 15 years in Europe. If the dream can become reality, beyond the clear advantage that Peñarol would have with the incorporation of a player of his stature, Uruguayan football would have two references of the country’s national team. Also, they would have taken Boca and River away from their two big desires in this market.
