LeBron James’ career in the NBA does not seem to have an end in the short term and the more time passes, the more he is worth. The star 37 years old who plays the leading role in the Los Angeles Lakers sat at the table with the directors of the franchise who are challenging the Western conference and reached an agreement to extend his contract for another two years in exchange for $ 97.1 million. But that’s not all, because with the agreement LeBron has reached a new record: He is the highest earning player in league history with $ 532 million bagged throughout his career.

LeBron joined the team located in the city of Los Angeles in 2018 and has become one of the great references of the team. Although he maintains a contract in place that ensures him the place in the squad until 2023, both parties has decided to extend the connection time and also to increase the total received on his salary which makes it the most successful player in history.

And the upgrade to the figure is stellar. Even though he kept the contract which allowed him to receive a total of $ 44.5 million per season, the four-time NBA champion will earn a total of $ 97.1 millionas confirmed by his agent, rich paul a ESPN.

The deal that both sides have closed, that includes 15% commercial compensationguarantees the player to reach a sum of 532 million dollars earned in the league. With this multi-million dollar deal, the Ohio-born American enters the history of the largest number of championship winners.

The contract between the 37-year-old player and the team angelono could extend up to two years more, until the 2024/25 season, taking into account that at the expiry of the current agreement the star will be 38 years old. Considering the age of the American player, the collective rule that exists in the league begins to take effect which shortens the duration of the contracts and will have the possibility of a third extension for two years.

The player who won two rings with the Miami Heat (2012 and 2013) and one with the Cleveland Cavaliers (2016), maintained an outstanding performance with the Lakers despite not qualifying for the Play-Offs. LeBron has struck a stellar deal that allows him to break a record and will continue to prove himself in the Los Angeles Lakers.
