A repeated image for Tomás Chancalay. And it’s not one the fan wants to see again. But the Racing man once again had an inexplicable reaction. He lasted just ten minutes on the pitch against San Lorenzo. He entered the interval and was expelled from a useless trampling on Agustín Giay. On the second round he had already won an incomprehensible red against Godoy Cruz. To make matters worse, Leandro Sigali was eventually sent off thanks to technology and La Academia finished with nine.
He spent just about a dozen minutes on the lawn of the Cylinder. Fernando Gago sent Chancalay on for Matías Rojas. But the attacker was sent a big witness like the whole stadium. He went to score the little boy Giay and committed a tough foul from behind. But then he stepped on us with his right foot. The referee, Fernando Espinoza, did not see him and only showed him the yellow card, but the Ciclón winger was very sore on the ground and the VAR called.
The judge saw the repeat on the monitor about six times, turned around, overturned the warning and automatically gave him the correct red card. “I don’t see it,” Chancalay swore to Espinoza. But the gesture was very clear and the plant of him against the rival’s leg was not accidental.
This is not the first time he has done something like this. That’s why even the fans got annoyed and booed. Chancalay had already been sent off on the second day of this championship even for a meaningless red card. It doesn’t seem scary.
It was against Godoy Cruz in Mendoza. 34 minutes had passed since the start of the first half when a player from Tomba annoyed him from above in the middle of the field. The Racing one remained on the ground, he was angry because he was not charged with an infraction and made a terrible decision: he kicked Pier Barrios at knee height, who passed him with the ball.
Coincidentally, the referee of that match also showed him the yellow card first. And the VAR went into action. Soon after, he saw the red plastic and left his team with one less. The race eventually fell 2-0.
In Avellaneda he was again irresponsible. And with four minutes to go, Sigali was also fired for a shot at Adam Bareiro’s ankle, again via VAR, who had a lot of work
