It lasted 35 years and was “just” a draw. On 21-21 of 1985 in Ferro, with all the points by Hugo Porta for Los Pumas, it was the poster that Argentine rugby had hung on the wall of the UAR as the best result against the All Blacks, to which even history had given them a name: Invincible.
However, time has passed and to see this dawn Saturday that the Los Pumas have defeated the ones in black in their own country is not impossible, unbelievable or shocking. It is the reality. Probably even more games are lost against them than can be won. Or not. The Argentine triumph with such solidity and merit generates that the possibility of seeing more of these triumphs is certain.
They had already been beaten in 2020, on November 14, in Sydney, where the championship was played on a bubble due to the pandemic. That 25-15 was taken as historic property, the first time in a duel that has already played 34 games, with 31 wins for the blacks, one draw and two for the Los Pumas.
