Independent received an inhibition from FIFA because he did not respect the debt payment plan with the Uruguayan defender Gaston Silva.

The club has received a notification from the Zurich, Switzerland-based body banning it from “registering new players” in the next market.

According to the FIFA letter sent to the club with a copy of the AFA, Independiente did not respect “its financial obligations” in the payment plan agreed after the TAS ruling issued in May in favor of the player for the salary debt recorded between 2017 and 2020.

The sports court ruled that Rojo should pay the Uruguayan defender $ 1,250,406.39 plus an additional 5,000 Swiss francs for legal fees.

Subsequently, the circle chaired by Hugo Moiano agreed with the player’s lawyer a payment divided into three installments.

The first of approximately $ 500,000 expired on July 15th.

Silva gave Independiente a few more days, but given the lack of response, he returned to claim FIFA.

Fifteen days after the expiry of the first installment, the highest football organization notified Independiente of the inhibition of the inclusion of players in the next market until it has fulfilled its “financial obligations”.

Uruguayan Silva joined Independiente in mid-2017 and spent three years until he went free in 2020 amid a wage dispute.
