The midfielder of the Argentine national team Leandro Paredes made his debut this Saturday with the Juventus shirt in the match that his new team, to which he arrived on loan this week from Paris Saint-Germain in the week, drew 1-1 with Fiorentina host for the fifth round of the Italian Serie A.

For the 28-year-old ex Boca it was not the ideal debut, given that in the 42nd minute of the initial phase he committed a penalty, sanctioned by the referee Daniele Diveri after consulting the screen at the foot of the field and after the Argentine footballer touched ball with his right arm after a cross from the left by Riccardo Sottil.

To Paredes’ relief, Serbian Luka Jovic’s shot was deflected slightly by goalkeeper Mattia Perin, hit the right post, crossed the line and was then saved by a defender. The Juve goalkeeper was largely responsible for the point his team saved from the Artemio Franchi stadium.

Before that, the Turin side had taken the lead by 9 minutes at the start of that first chapter in a maneuver in which Colombian Juan Guillermo Cuadrado overflowed from the right and sent a cross that Ángel Di María connected with a volley. Fideo’s shot is not intended for the bow, but is deflected into the net by the body by the Polish Arkadiusz Milik.

At 29 ‘of the first chapter, the Ivorian Christian Kouamé scored the equal goal which proved to be definitive. In the complement, both Di María and Paredes were replaced by Mattia De Sciglio and Nicolò Fagioli. Meanwhile, Lucas Martínez Quarta played the final 37 minutes of the duel for the local cast.

With this parity, Juventus remained unbeaten in Serie A, even though in their five appearances they recorded two wins and three draws, thus remaining below the leaders, Atalanta and Roma. Fiorentina have six points, the result of a victory, three draws and a fall.

Next Tuesday Juventus will make their Champions League debut: they will visit Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes for the first date of group H. That clash will mark the return of Di María and Paredes to play against their former team and against Lionel Messi, his mate in the Argentine team.
