Boca Juniors today they beat River Plate 1-0, in the Superclásico valid for the 18th date of the Professional Soccer League, and with the victory they got in full fight for the title.
Dario Benedetto scored the goal of the match in a candy box full who celebrated with emphasis a new classic victory, after six games without being able to do it at home.
With this victory, Boca reached 32 points and took advantage of the equalizer of the leader of Atlético Tucumán (34) and the defeat of Gimnasia La Plata (33). For his part, River (29) is still waiting, but he has missed a great opportunity to get close to those above.
What was the story like?
The second Superclásico of the year was once again for Boca. The first had been at the court of the river, with Battaglia on Xeneize’s bench; and now the one who led the winner was Hugo Ibarra, in his first litmus test against his lifelong rival.
With this new triumph, in La Boca they continue to distance themselves from those of Núñez as regards the balance of wins, draws and defeats. Out of 258 games, Boca won 91, River won 84 and drew on 83 occasions. Xeneize scored 334 goals and the Millionaire reached 314.
If we consider the 213 league games played, Boca have won 78 and River 70 (they have drawn 65 times). In that competition, Xeneize scored 291 goals and the Millionaire, 273.
The difference between one and the other is greater if you count the 122 games played with Boca as a local in general: Boca won 56 and River 27 (they drew 39 times), with 176 goals against 126.
The overall history of Bombonera is largely in favor of Xeneize: 103 games, 47 wins for Boca and 21 for River (they drew 35 times), with 145 goals for the local team against 104 away.
