It is not easy to take the place of the current president of Independiente and leader of the truckers’ union. The heavy figure of him, for better or for worse, is not bearable for those who aspire to succeed him in his group. There have been countless meetings in the past month. Until the mystery was revealed on Monday, the day the lists close. The chief officer to run for the polls will be the economist Javier Mazaformer official Kirchner of the Province of Buenos Aires.
The names of the opposition options had long been defined. So much Fabiano Doman (Independent unit) such as Claudio Rudecindo (Independent People) maintained the same working group stipulated for December last year, when the elections should have been held.
Nestore Grindetti Y Giovanni Marconi will be the candidates for the post of vice president of the Doman space, while Rudecindo will be seconded from Roberto Bustamante Y Rodrigo Gadano.
The name of who would go for the Independent Group was yet to be known after the Moyanos announced they would be withdrawing from the lawsuit, as they considered they had a cycle completed after two periods in command of the Avellaneda entity. And when at 20:00 the Electoral Commission has the complete lists on the table, it will appear Javier Maza noted above all by the official newspaper.
Who is Mazza and what is his bond with Independiente? He was born in Necochea, but lived in La Plata from an early age. He has a degree in Economics and currently has a private consulting firm. He was the head of the IOMA (Medical Assistance Work Institute), the Social Work of the Province of Buenos Aires and the IPS (Social Welfare Institute). Mazza, of Peronist ideology, was provincial senator, head of Road Safety and then Secretary of Transport of Buenos Aires during the government of Daniel Scioli.
A fervent supporter of the Rojo, he participated in the management of Julio Comparada in the club as a representative of the members. In fact, at that time he was director of an institute of the Banco Provincia for the construction of the stadium. In 2011 he joined the list chaired by Baldomero Chub Alvarez as deputy 2nd, although that force lost to Independiente Místico, Javier Cantero’s group.
Now he has received the proposal from the hand of Yo-yo Maldonado (owner of the list) and of Chub Alvarez, who will run as general secretary. In the meantime, Gustavo López, current number 2 of ENACOM (National Communication Agency), will be the candidate for the vice-presidency.
