The Qatar World Cup 2022 It has already entered the countdown and there are just over two months to go before the opening match, rescheduled for November 20. An entire country and Doha, its capital, are preparing to receive the highest football competition, and right now the news is linked to transport networks.

Through the Qatar 2022 organizing committee it was confirmed that public transport it will be free for all those fans who have a Hayya Card, the card that identifies the fans with a ticket during the tournament.

The advanced infrastructure that Qatar has built in terms of mobility for tourists and football fans who will gather at the World Cup consists of three alternatives to explore the city of Doha: metro, tram and bus.

The metro system in Qatar consists of three lines (Gold, Green and Red) covering 37 stations, all with emergency personnel and a frequency of 3 minutes per service. In addition, each station is equipped with lifts and the cars are equipped with space for wheelchairs, strollers and access for guide dogs.

The service also has mini buses that transport passengers between stations or important places in the city. There are two types of buses: the metrolink buses, which run on routes with a diameter of 2 to 5 kilometers from the stations, and the metroexpress mini buses, which serve as passenger transport between the stations and emblematic places of the city.

For the World Cup days, the service hours will be extended, so the service will be from Saturday to Thursday from 6:00 to 3:00; while on Friday it will be from 9:00 to 3:00.

Another means that will make life easier for visitors during the World Cup is the tram. This transportation network has three lines covering key sections of the city: Lusail Tram, Education City Tram, and Msheireb Tram.

Finally, the Karwa buses will be ready, operating in an extensive network around the center of Doha and their routes can be tracked via an application.

In addition to free public transport, a shuttle service will also be available with cost such as Uber, private taxis and Careem.
