Turismo Carretera in San Luis: Mariano Werner wins and Ford celebrates

With a pace set by the Ford No. 1, Mariano Werner got the victory in the final of the Turismo Carretera in San Luis. Urcera and Mangoni complete the podium.

The TC race started on a track that was starting to get complicated due to the drizzle that was falling on the circuit. Werner was the leader, followed by Urcera and Mangoni, the latter passed to Gini. While fifth was Benvenuti.

On the third lap, Benvenuti beat Gini and it was the brand new fourth. Moments later, Lambiris overtook the subway and moved up to fifth place in the standings. With nine laps, Benvenuti had problems in Turin and had to leave.

Lambiris then continued his climb and after beating Mangoni he was already third with Ford. On lap 16, the Balcarceño recovered the position with the Uruguayan driver, who was having problems with fifth gear.

Three laps before the checkered flag fell, the Pace Car said it was present to remove Ciantini’s car. On the last lap the speed returned to the group with Werner in the lead, followed by Urcera, Mangoni and Castellano. The latter beat Gini at the first corner.

In the last few meters there was a hard blow between Agrelo and Todino. In short, it was a win for Werner in the San Luis TC competition. He was escorted by Urcera, Mangoni, Castellano and Esteban Gini completed the top five. on the closure, Canapino had a breakthrough that took him to 21st place and brought him back to the top of the Gold Cup.

In the Gold Cup, Canapino 54.5 points, followed by Urcera with 50 and Werner with 47. The next appointment will be on 9 October at the Comodoro Rivadavia racetrack.
