For now, official confirmation is awaited; the idea of ​​Jorge Batista, a doctor from Boca, is that if the prospects are not favorable, go under the knife again to carry out a “cleaning” and that in a little less than a month can return to training.

The former goalkeeper of the national team underwent an arthroscopy in March to remove some loose bodies inside the joint and then he never stopped in an official match.

Sergio Romero’s lack of continuity is not new. At Manchester United, where he spent just over five years (2015-2021), he didn’t stop in the Premier League and his place was secured in occasional international cups.

After his arrival in Italian football – in October last year – at Venezia, the last club before Boca, he played 16 matches in Serie A and scored 33 goals.

He has only had three goalless goals during the season and his performances have failed to prevent the Italian team from relegating.

The last official match in which Chiquito Romero saved was on March 6, in the 4-1 defeat of Venezia against Sassuolo.
