The fourth and final round of ticket sales for Qatar 2022 begins today and, with nearly two and a half million tickets sold, it is already possible to estimate which countries will dominate the Asian continent. The Argentine national team is one of the favorites to raise the cup on 18 December, and the Albiceleste also promises to be the protagonist in the stands.
With 500,000 tickets to sell, Argentina is already in the Top 10 of the countries with the highest number of tickets purchased, in a list that sees a large South American participation. The remaining tickets will start to be sold through the FIFA portal, and not only the ‘Scaloneta’ says present at the top of most tickets soldbut Argentina has run out of tickets for the group stage of the World Cup.
Who leads the ranking of most tickets sold, how could it be otherwise, is Qatar. Behind the Qataris, they appear United States, England, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, United Arab Emirates, France, Argentina, Brazil and Germany. The curious thing is that the UAE is also part of the Top 10, even when the Persian Gulf team failed to qualify for the World Cup.
Already off the list, they appear selected as Spain or Canada, even with a fairly high percentage of ticket sales. Among the surprises is the presence of India, another team left without the possibility of playing the World Cup. And India had already entered the Top 10 of the countries with the highest number of tickets sold in Russia 2018.
As for the most requested matches, there are several things to clarify. After the first phase of ticket sales, the 4 matches with the highest number of requests were the following: Argentina against Mexico, Argentina against Saudi ArabiaEngland vs United States e Argentina vs Poland. Today, with two other intermediate sales stages, the ranking has changed a lot. Cameroon versus Brazil and Serbia versus Brazil became two of the most popular matches.
The table of accumulated sales, which will reach 3 million tickets sold at the end of this last marketing period, leaves several surprises. The truth is that Argentina is once again the protagonist. In fact, the three matches that those led by Lionel Scaloni will play in the group stage, will be in full swing. In the last few hours, it has been confirmed that the tickets for these three matches are already sold out.
Regarding the sales phase that will begin today, FIFA have specified that there will be two modes: the sale of ‘last minute’ tickets, which will be carried out through the Federation’s website; and the ‘on the table’ sale, which will take place in person in Doha, for Qatar fans only.
How is Doha 54 days before the World Cup
The Arab country is colored in anticipation of the more than 2 million fans who will start arriving from November, when the Hayya Card will be enabled, the type of visa that all those who want to participate in the World Cup must issue. With just 54 days to go, Qatar is working against the clock so that everything goes according to plan.
The truth is that Qatar is a large construction site that only has to place furniture to meet delivery dates. To keep up with the times, the country has been populated over the past 12 years by immigrant workers who have urbanized the desert. An envoy of Clarín in Arab land points out: “A few days before the World Cup, walking through the center of Doha is like walking in the fog, with a summer that lasts eight months and that it can have freezing wind peaks of 60 degrees “.
An Argentine who works in the organization of the World Cup adds: “The first thing they will do is try to convince them not to drink in those spaces, for example. And so with everything that here and in Westerners of the world does not. The country wants to open up. to the world and to tourism, it will not create a problem in front of the international gaze ”.
