The victories over Honduras and Jamaica in the United States were the last test for Lionel Scaloni before the start of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. In any case, they have another friendly match left, even if that will be with the squad chosen to go in search of maximum glory in Doha, starting from 22 November when they will face Saudi Arabia.

That match, of which it is not yet known whether it will be an official friendly or a joint training session, will be against the United Arab Emirates, paradoxically led by an Argentine: Rodolfo Martín Arruabarrena.

Last August, the same former Boca coach was in charge of confirming the news. “It will be November 16th. We hope that the litter of players can make the most of this opportunity. And that he helps Argentina to reach the Cup in the best conditions ”, expressed the ‘Vasco’.

The venue will be Abu Dhabi, a previous stop for the Albiceleste team to acclimate before landing in Doha.

This Tuesday, in the international window, the Emirates took the opportunity to compete in a friendly against Venezuela, directed by José Néstor Pekerman. Victory 4-0 for Vinotinto.

In Austria, the South American team opened the scoring on 18 minutes with striker Jefferson Savarino on a pass by Santos Brazilian midfielder Yeferson Soteldo, whose assist was essential during the game.

Seven minutes later, Everton England striker Salomón Rondón appeared to score the second goal and extend his record as the Venezuelan national team all-time forward with 36 goals.

Vinotinto’s lead, just down in Iceland last week, stretched as Jhon Chancellor scored the third goal.

The United Arab Emirates, led by Argentine Rodolfo Arruabarrena, also came from a defeat, in its lawsuit against Paraguay by 0-1 last Friday, and against Venezuela it failed to define a clear game. The Arab team was overwhelmed.

During the second half of the game, the teams slowed down, but in the 76th minute Monagas rookie Andrés Romero, 19, pitched a pass to Atlanta United striker Josef Martínez to score the final goal.

It is the second time that Venezuela and the United Arab Emirates have met. The first occasion occurred in October 2018, when the Arabs also fell 0-2 against the Venezuelans.
