Warzone 2.0 debuted this Thursday on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC consoles. Developed by the Infinity Ward studio and distributed by the publisher Activision, the second generation of the free battle royale is renewed not only for the graphic aspect, but also for a new Battle Pass system and the debut of Lionel Messi as a playable character.
From Argentine 15, Warzone 2.0 will take players to the new and the great Map of Al Mazra, in the fictional United Republic of Adal. It has 18 main points of interest, many of which are repeated in the multiplayer mode of Modern Warfare 2, the main game. These are Al Bagra Fortress, Embassy, Zarqwa Hydroelectric, Taraq, Sariff Bay and Sa’id.
But the most relevant thing about the battle royale is this follow the line free to play from the original, that is, it is completely free and there are no restrictions on content; microtransactions will focus on cosmetic items that have no impact on gameplay.
Warzone 2.0: What the new Battle Pass is like
When you enter the menu inside Modern Warfare II or Warzone 2.0instead of seeing the familiar long horizontal strip of 100 levels to unlock, there’s an impressive large-scale map packed with additional content, also called the Area of Operations (AO).
The new Season 01 Battle Pass is out divided into 21 different “Combat Sectors”from A0 (Bonus Combat Sector) to A20.
Combat sectors A1 to A20 are connected to each other. The key to progress is to look at sectors adjacent to (and therefore connected to) the one you’re currently unlocking.
Each section has a main and secondary prizes. For example, “The Orbiter” weapon blueprint is highlighted in Sector A1, but selecting it reveals four other items: the “Air Admission” calling card, a Double Weapon XP Token, the “Air Admission” emblem, and the paid rent “Charm weapon.
As explained by Activision, all of these items require a Battle Token Level Up to unlock. These are obtained simply by playinglike the levels of the old system.
In total you can get one max 100 battle token level skips, as they will be automatically spent at the end of the season if the sector items they wish to unlock have not been designated. Only the Battle Token level-ups of users who have purchased the Vault Edition of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be cumulative.
Specifically, using a Battle Token Skip Level “unlocks” an item for access. Items marked “free” are available to all players.
Once all the rewards in all combat sectors from A0 to A20 have been unlocked, only one more will remain called the “Victory Sector” which dispenses valuable bonus rewards for total victory.
It must be taken into account that the AO Sectors contain a total of 1,400 Call of Duty Points (CP), which, once completely unlocked, allow you to recover the amount spent when purchasing the Battle Pass.
This new Battle Pass for Warzone 2.0, in general terms, It is similar to the one implemented by Epic Games for Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8, as a catalog of rewards.
