Netflix communicated to its subscribers this week a new change in the price of its plans. The plans of the streaming platform increase rates by 30% starting in December.

Amid the twists with the charge for adding a house in Argentina, the world’s leading streaming service has decided to change the values ​​of its three subscriptions for the second time this year: Basic, Standard and Premium.

The first and cheapest, which corresponds to those who contract the use of “one compatible device at a time”, had a 41% increase corresponding to the April rate of 499 pesos. It will now cost $699 ($1,324 including tax) when the new rate takes effect in December.

The plan that includes two HD-capable devices, Standard, saw the largest increase at 62.6 percent. Therefore, the streaming service’s December bills will reflect a charge of $1,299 ($2,461 including tax).

Finally, the subscription that supports four compatible devices at the same time is the one that sees the biggest increase: it will cost $1899, but with taxes it will go to 3,598 pesos. Here the increase was 58.4%.

The values ​​of these three plans prior to this announcement did not include the 8% taxes corresponding to the PAIS tax and the advance of earnings and VAT.

“We know people have more entertainment options than ever before and we are committed to providing an even better experience for our members,” Netflix said in a statement.

They added, “We’re updating our pricing so we can continue to offer a wide variety of quality entertainment options, such as Merlina, Matrimillas, Emily in Paris, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, coming in the coming weeks”.

As indicated through an official statement, the allegations “applies to new members and will gradually go into effect for all current members.

After suffering the biggest loss of subscribers in its history, the big “N” platform has arrived complete transformation process. During the first quarter of 2022, the streaming service lost 200,000 users, news that sent the company’s stock tumbling 37%.

Since then, Netflix has announced changes to turn the situation around as soon as possible: from the launch of a new, but cheaper, subscription model with ads, to the introduction of live broadcast content such as Twitch or YouTube.

However, movies and series are not the only thing Netflix has to offer, since other options appeared a few months ago, such as video game, available through its mobile platform. They are all free and without ads.

In an effort to add an audience and strengthen its business scheme, the platform tries to offer exclusive content that is different from the rest of its competitors.

He tried it mainly a few years ago with Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, the interactive film by Charlie Brooker, in which viewers can not only share their experience as active viewers, but they can decide what will happen, how the story will continue, what will happen to them with the characters.
