The event that takes place every year in the city of Las Vegas is divided into 41 thematic categories such as artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), cybersecurity, digital health and cryptocurrencies.

A selection of technological gadgets most awarded, by way of budget and closure, is carried out each year by the CES organization itself. While some specialized sites like Wired, TechRadar and Gizmodo play their own.

The 5 best achieved teams of this edition second clarionwhere those with a health or service orientation predominate, are:

Ring car cam

Taking advantage of the trend of installing cameras on the windshield of cars – known as dashcams – under the guise of recording accidents or attempted robberies, the Ring company, which is in the country, has launched a product that integrates Alexa software.

The hardware consists of two cameras, one to monitor the interior and the other facing the front windshield, so as to have a perspective of what is happening both inside and outside the cabin.

If the sensors of this system detect an anomaly or go off the alarm, automatic recording is activated, alerting via the Ring app what is happening.

If there’s a person loitering nearby, the device has a microphone and speaker, allowing it to communicate with the curious to discourage them. Remotely or in person, you can activate it simply by saying “Alexa, record”.

It can currently be booked from 200 dollars for a limited time, but the final price will be $250 when it launches on February 15th.

Prinker M

For those who are fascinated by it tattoosbut not about to undergo a poke session, this Argentina-based portable printer is capable of affixing temporary designs, using cosmetic inks.

To apply any design, simply set the printer down and within seconds the pattern is captured on the leather. The tattoos are waterproof, says the South Korean firm, although they can be removed with soap.

The companion application, which is responsible for sending the prints to the portable machine, includes more than 12,000 designs and also allows you to add your own motifs.

The main device, sold by $279 and ink cartridges to produce about 1,000 tattoos cost $119.

scan

Withings is a company dedicated to creating wearable health devices. It includes everything from smartwatches, to smart scales and even thermometers. But at CES 2023 he surprised with the U-Scan.

The gadget is attached – like cleaning tablets – to the rim of the toilet and was designed to carry out health assessments by analyzing urine. You can even distinguish between different people based on their jet.

A heat-driven pump takes a sample and sends it through a “microfluidic loop” into a cartridge filled with three months worth of test caps. If the app detects certain biomarkers where due to a chemical reaction it notifies the person.

An optical sensor that analyzes the color-changing test strips lets you determine everything from fertility cycles to daily water and nutrient intake via the app, without having to send anything to the lab.

Z Lens

Several smart glasses have been presented this year, such as RayNeo X2 or TCL’s Idol Eyes, but the Lumus branded ones, with augmented reality, stand out for their image quality.

These lenses use waves that project the “screen” onto the glass, since while the pixels are in the frame, it is the glass that conducts the light into your eyes. The optical engine of the Z-Lens features a resolution of 2K per eye for a sharp image.

Lumus patented this lens for “reflective” waves instead of “diffractive” waves, which most use, resulting in brighter, sharper images, as well as lower power consumption, so the mount may require smaller batteries.

In order to be able to use them in broad daylight, they support a brightness of 3,000 nits, which means that queries can be made in the midday sun. From an aesthetic point of view they are indistinguishable from conventional eyewear.

Smartwatch Nowatch

Even if it seems paradoxical, Nowatches are the first smart watches that don’t show the time on the screen. It presents itself as an “aware” that records the statistics of the body.

What is striking is that the sensors and other measuring mechanisms are hidden in the base. Above are mounted interchangeable stone spheres, which adhere magnetically to the watch case.

The hidden sensors can record your heart rate, steps, sleep and sweat gland production. In addition, the stress level and can detect cardiac events in advance.

Nowatch calls on Philips Health’s EDA (Electro Dermal Activity) biosensing technology. The collected data is displayed in the application, both for Android and for iOS, associated with the equipment.

The smartwatch is sold for 500 dollars, and each “sphere” of stones will be sold separately. The cheapest costs 27 pains.
