Apple has released an emergency security update: which iPhone models should download it

To thwart any intrusion, Apple has released an update to firmware iOS 12.5.7 which protects these six affected devices.

If you haven’t enabled automatic updates, go to the Settings app and then General > Software Update. Similarly, in the “Automatic Updates” section, “Download iOS Updates” and “Install iOS Updates” must be activated. This will automatically update your device to the latest version of iOS or iPadOS.

The tech company, led by Tim Cook, admitted it was “aware of a report that this issue may have been actively exploited against versions of iOS released before iOS 15.1,” so it’s definitely a good idea to install the update.
