Rumors of a foldable iPhone have been forgotten. The big problem this technology is loaded with is that it is very attractive by design, but not very functional.

Also, Apple’s manufacturing strategy is to wait and see. how the market responds before promoting a new technology and if it sees the possibility of introducing it, it substantially improves the existing quality.

Display analyst Ross Young said last year that there was no indication in the supply chain that at least one foldable iPhone was in the works. in the next 5 years.

After, Ming Chi Kuo supported this claim and suggested that the first device could be a foldable iPad, a view also supported by CCS Insight, as it makes more sense.

Both Kuo and Young base their predictions on supply chain intelligence. They have direct contacts in China with both existing and potential Apple suppliers, trying to make sense of the orders received from those companies, both confirmed and questioned.

Both agree that this new model with a flexible screen, which could arrive next year, “it will improve the product mix” in the iPad range.

In this case, Kuo appears to have spoken to Apple supplier Suzhou Anjie Technology, which he is said to be working on carbon fiber bracket for a foldable iPad.

The device would come with a dock base made of carbon, a material that would provide great durability and would also be lightweight. And while this type of resolution isn’t usually part of the business, it may provide features for you to consider.

Anjie Technology, as the carbon fiber stand polish and stick supplier for the foldable iPad, is expected to continue to benefit from the growing trend of stand-equipped devices in the future.

Kuo understands that the foldable iPad will allow Apple to increase the number of shipments in 2024, as the same analyst expects sales this year to decline by about 10 or 15% compared to 2022.

13 years since the first iPad

At the end of January 2010, Apple held one of its historic events. On the occasion, in front of an expectant audience, Steve Jobs held the first copy of the iPad in his hands.

The device has been speculated as a hybrid between laptop and smartphone, which appeared on the scene three years after the launch of that company’s great revolution, the iPhone which came to light in 2007.

The original iPad almost sold 3.3 million units in its first quarter on the market, following its commercial debut in April 2010. On launch day, more than 300,000 tablets and app downloads from the App Store skyrocketed.

The second generation of the tablet was the focus of the last presentation led by Steve Jobs, in March 2011. The co-founder of Apple died that same year, in October, at the age of 56.
