Rewired school, a collaborative learning platform, brings together one million young people from Latin America to propose sustainable projects for the environment. The 100 best proposals will be presented to investors from all over the world.
It is a proposal that lasts 6 months and which aims to solve the current problems affecting the environment: “#OneMillionChallenge is a learning platform in technologies, digital business, innovation, entrepreneurship and leadership open to all young people in Latin America to develop solutions for the wide range of challenges facing the planet such as accelerating the circular economy, promoting the energy transition or save the Amazon and the oceans”, explain the organization.
The program is completely free and, in the semester it envisages, various phases unfold. “During the first phase, of aspiration, participants will immerse themselves in the critical issues of the planet to define the change they will create. During the inspiration phase, they will virtually travel the world learning to the innovators who are building a better world”, they develop.
“Finally, in the Transpiration phase they will develop skills in emerging technologies, innovation and digital entrepreneurship to create and launch your business with impact”, they continue.
The winning projects will receive funding: “Young people will be immersed in digital creation and collaboration laboratories where they will have access to the tools and technologies used by the most innovative companies on the planet. At the end of the program, a judging panel of leaders will select and will sponsor 100 projects to be presented to investors from all over the world,” they explain.
So, “stop the plastic pandemic, plant a million trees, drive intelligent mobility”, are some of the challenges they pose as a model.
The event has the support of giants like Accenture, Google, IBM and Microsoft.

“We focus on young people, mid-career people and our favorite segment, the unstoppable, people over 60. We also carry out projects together with companies to develop new products, services or activities that have a huge positive impact on the world,” they add.
Other of the projects they have carried out have to do with the fight against violence against women: “In alliance with the IDB and the UN Women was created Zero violencea platform where more than 200 teams of tech entrepreneurs from 14 countries, including Argentina, create innovations that eliminate violence against women,” recalls González Yamús.
“Just like #OneMillionChallenge, in Violencia Cero, for eight months, teams immersed themselves in the great challenges women face in terms of violence, traveled the world virtually for inspiration, developed skills in Emerging technologies, to finally create and undertake their own solutions. Three teams received direct funding from the IDB for final development and scaling. At the end of the course, the teams presented their creations and social enterprises to investment funds and international cooperation bodies”, he concludes.
