According to the American medium Huffingtonpost, Warner Bros. Discovery plans to launch a new streaming platform that could be called WBTV.

This video-on-demand platform, which will be free, will have productions that have the company’s seal, such as “The Big Bang Theory” or “Friends”, as a featured content proposal.

Even productions that now have a place on other platforms like HBO Max or Amazon Prime Video would have a “home of their own” on WBTV, should the parent company want to reclaim them.

However, the Bloomberg agency has warned that a catalog loss on current platforms is not foreseeable and is not “expected for Warner Bros. to leave its greatest hits leave HBO Max”, which serve to give a strong boost to the platform. Most likely, this platform serves to contain less popular productions so that they go to WBTV for free broadcast.

Warner Bros. Discovery would enter to compete in a market, that of FAST platforms, with few exponents; although they have their strong point in a gratuity based on the emission of advertising.

For now there are no more details about it and we don’t even know the possible catalog, much less the date on which the platform’s premiere would take place. One more option that bets on advertising, at a time when other large companies, including Netflix, are also seeing advertise a way to improve your financial performance.
