MWC 2023 is one of the great international technology fairs, where all the new features of the Android universe are presented. The irony of the last edition is that, like every year, the best smartphone. And the most voted was the iPhone 14 Pro.
And if Apple he does not come to this type of events for years since he prefers to celebrate his own in his own facilities, this does not prevent him from being victorious in the most important categories of these awards.
Not content with the greater distinction, the Apple device also won the award to the maximum innovation in a device thanks to its satellite Emergency SOS function which incorporates this line of telephones.
As the organizers of the awards explain, the prize for the best smartphone is awarded to the one that combines performance, innovation and outstanding leadership.
The winner is chosen after evaluating phones launched between January 2022 and December 2022. Winners are chosen by analysts, journalists and industry influencers.
MWC 2023: the best of the Android world
This year Xiaomi, within the Android line up, has been the brand that more able to stand out from the rest, with the Xiaomi 13 family and augmented reality glasses.
The Chinese company has defined its product as “the pinnacle of innovation” and accompanies it with Leica cameras, 5G connectivity, WiFi 6, 8 or 12 GB LPDDR5X RAM memory and UFS 4.0 storage. up to 512GB.
The strongest argument the 13 Pro offers is in its three lenses 50 megapixels which is incorporated in a quadrilateral-shaped module.
In addition, the experts shortlisted four other devices that were several votes short of taking the award. They’re all Android devices, albeit well below iOS:
- Google Pixel 7 Pro
- No phone (1)
- Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4
- Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra
What is striking about this selection is that, a mid-range team how the Nothing Phone (1) managed to reach the top 5 of the best smartphones of 2022 for the experts of MWC 2023.
Motorola’s new Moto Rizr prototype has also garnered a lot of criticism. An interesting and innovative proposal is born: a roll-up screen to expand the functions of the device.
It is a compact size phone, whose screen is extended when needed. Its size starts with a conventional 5-inch format and can be extended to 6.5 inches, thanks to a motor that unrolls the screen.
The RIZR tries to address the same need as the foldable RAZR of 2019. The idea behind it is like providing a conventionally sized smartphone when needed, but more compact when in your pocket.
Another of the winners was the OnePlus 11, which undoubtedly stole the look of MWC2023 with its prototype including Active CryoFlux technology, liquid cooling on the back of the device.
This system makes it possible to reduce the temperature of the device by up to 2.1ºC during playback, which “translates into an improvement in the frame rate of between 3 and 4 degrees”, explains the same company.
At the heart of this technology is a piezoelectric ceramic micropump, connected to ducts located between an upper and lower diaphragm. It is through this electromagnetism that they circulate the coolant through the pipes.
