Shortly after the first year of launching Communities, the resource that Whatsapp found to fix group chats, the company behind the messenger tried to create even more tools for administrators and users equally. This Tuesday they presented some of them changes to make navigation easier for admins and members.

New controls for administrators

As more people join communities, group admins need to have more control over privacy, so WhatsApp has created a simple tool that gives them the ability to decide who can join a particular group.

When you choose to share your group invite link or allow your group to join a community, admins will now have more control over who can join the group. “Groups are a place where people have more intimate conversations, and it’s important that admins can easily decide who can and can’t join,” Zuckerberg said.

Easily view groups in common

As communities and larger groups grow, the messenger is committed to simplifying which groups the users have in common with the shift manager. Whether you’re trying to remember the name of a group you share or want to see the ones you belong to, it’s now easy to search for a contact’s name to see groups in common.

How communities work on WhatsApp

The need to connect people and the use of community that has arisen as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic has prompted the development of the Community tool, as confessed by Meta.

After updating the application to the latest version, both on Android and iOS, users of the messaging service can connect various groups, such as neighborhood communities, both school and work parents, together in a single place to organize group conversations.

To get started, you need to hit the new Community tab at the top of Chats on Android or at the bottom on iOS. From there, the user can start a new community from scratch or add existing groups.

Once the community is created, each member can easily switch groups to get the information they need, when they need it, and administrators can send important news to all members.

The role of the administrators of these communities is fundamental. Like a school bulletin board, each of the 20 executives will be able to use the announcement chat to make general communications, delete the messages of others, check the contents that are shared and the toxicity that is often generated in the social interaction between groups.
