The variety of options offered by WhatsApp is ever wider. From stickers, small clips, audio messages to calls. But another option will be added soon. It’s about video messagesa feature that, for now, will only be available on iPhone phones.
Through this feature, users will be able to record and send videos of up to 60 seconds to your contacts by simply holding down the camera button. A service that could revolutionize the way we communicate and compete with traditional vocal notes.
According to the specialized site WABetaInfo, the Meta app already has an option hidden within its test version for developers that allows you to send and receive this type of message.
This specific feature for video messages has been localized in the TestFlight beta program for iOS, version 23.6.0.73. And, contrary to what currently happens with sending any video via the app, this novelty will not allow saving nor forward the video message.
Security measures for text and voice messages will become part of video messaging. That means, it will be encrypted end-to-end, so no one will be able to see by intercepting the shared videos.
The date when this WhatsApp feature will be available to the general public is still unknown, but work is underway to implement it in a future update of this application.
Automated messages, another feature that comes to WhatsApp
WhatsApp has announced that it will begin rolling out a new feature – “Message Yourself” – that makes it easier to message yourself.
It is a personal chat where the user notes can be sentphotos, audio or news and reminders you need on a daily basis.
The new and “practical” feature will be available for iPhone and Android operating systems, and will reach all WhatsApp users in the coming weeks, reports the messaging network.
For its activation, those interested must open their WhatsApp and create a new chat; at that moment you will see your contact at the top of the list. You will have to click on their name and the feature will be ready to send a message.
This is a quick and easy way to keep track of your activities, expenses or shopping list, WhatsApp provides as an example.
