The title for the best photo form, at least in Android, is a title in which several manufacturers compete. The one that seems to have a distinct edge over the others, judging by its latest releases, is Xiaomi. With the release of the 13 Ultra, I confirm the clear difference which separates it from its rivals.
It is officially presented this Tuesday and for a few days the company has been slipping some features, with a super camera Leica that just look at it to realize its power.
The new premium smartphone of the Chinese company will come in two colors: white and green and will focus on a design very similar to that of its predecessor, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra.
But unlike the previous generation, in the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, the gigantic circular module will be directly integrated into the frame and it won’t be in a big picture window.
The current model will maintain the association with Leica and include a more advanced configuration than the rest of the models, thanks to a new optical system and a Summicron lens, as confirmed by the company.
“We believe that the perfect lens should have a large aperture, compact size and strong imaging performance across the entire focal length range,” the company said in a statement.
This module consists of four cameras: a main one with a 50MP image stabilizer, a 48MP ultra-wide angle, a 48MP telephoto and a depth sensor.
Leica has pointed out that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will have a new optical systempresumably for taking photos with a longer zoom range than the 13 Pro, going up to 3.5x.
Judging by its size and thickness, most critics argue that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will be the best mobile in photography of the market for this year, with the iPhone 15 as the only rival.
Xiaomi 13 Ultra: rest of the features and price
As for the rest of the features, it will have many specifications inherited from the Xiaomi 13 Pro, which was presented a month ago. It is expected to carry the same processor and RAM and storage configuration.
The franchised terminal will mount a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with LTPO technology, with QHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It will include the Snapdragon 8 Gen. 2 chip.
The processor will be accompanied by different versions of RAM and storage, starting with a base configuration of 8GB + 256GB, another with 12GB of RAM with the same storage and a last variant with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal memory.
The battery will be slightly larger than that of the 13 Pro, with a capacity 4,900mAh. Curiously, the fast charging will be lower, reaching 90W instead of the 120W included in the Pro model. The wireless will be 50W and with IP68 certification for resistance to water and dust.
Its textured finish is very reminiscent of its predecessor, but what is more surprising is its thickness, which is more accentuated in the upper half, allowing it to house a huge camera module. Its price is estimated around $1,400.
