Want to tweet without addressing the entire planet? The social network is currently testing Circle (circle, in French), a functionality that allows the publication of messages reserved for a restricted group of maximum 150 people.
This function is similar to what Instagram offers, with the possibility to draw a list relatives and publish some specific content for these people only.
Twitter Circle lets you do the same, select up to 150 people, whether they follow your account or not, and limit the reach of a tweet to this audience if you like.
Its members circle will not be able to retweet your messages outside of it. Of course, this doesn’t prevent Internet users from taking screenshots and posting them wherever they see fit, so caution should be exercised.
This new service is already available for a limited number of accounts worldwide, according to a page on the Twitter technical support site. The feature is still in development and the social network has not provided a rollout timeline.
This news shows that despite all the twitter over the social network takeover of bizarre billionaire Elon Musk, trials of new products have not been stopped. In April, Twitter announced it was working with a button to edit one post after post, a feature eagerly awaited by the tweeting network’s followers.
