For several months there was speculation that WhatsApp was working to drive reactions to messages in the messaging application. Exits show battery of smileys to usebut does not have any accuracy on the date of its release. That day finally came as well.

From this Thursday, WhatsApp will allow you to send a reaction to a message, photo, video or audio. Changes will start coming with the new update which is spreading all over the world.

The scoop was managed by Mark Zuckerberg himself who made the announcement via a short message on his Facebook account. That’s where he taught that “WhatsApp Reactions Starts Launching Now”followed by emojis that can be used.

The reaction system is not new to messaging applications. Other platforms like Telegram, Slack, Facebook Messenger or even the Google Messages app offer this response option for some time.

How reactions to WhatsApp messages work

The operation of reactions is simple, just select a message and, with total freedom, react to it with an emoji. When reacting, at the bottom of the message, the selected emoticon will appear. In case of repentance, it can be removed.

Its logic is the same as in other applications that already have this tool. Only you have to hold on consistently in the message to bring up a small window showing different emoticons.

Currently only six reactions are available: Like, Love, Funny, Surprised, Sad, and Thank you. Not sure if, later, you can choose more emoji or even activate calls personalized reactions.

In the case of groups, the reaction will be visible to all chat members. In case a contact reacts to a message, you will also receive a notification stating that someone has reacted to one of the messages. It is not yet known whether in a group chat, anonymous or not such reactions.

Recently, the app added the ability to connect multiple devices without having to turn on the phone. While this is something Telegram has been using for a long time, the truth is that the popular chat app now allows you to open it on your computer without having to the phone was paired at that time.

But the limitation is clear: only allow 4 at a time. If you need more, you can get a subscription that will expand that quota, something that is important for commercial accounts.

According to the expert site WABetaInfoWhatsApp seems to be developing a new plan for business accounts with the aim of offering some additional features to subscribers.

One of them will admit up to 10 linked devices in one accountmore than double the current limit, which will allow more people within a company to use the same official point of contact to communicate with customers.

It’s entirely possible that this upcoming subscription may include other extras beyond the 10-device limit above this, but nothing else is known so far.

Both the Android and iOS versions of WhatsApp Business currently don’t show any signs of facing the public, so you’ll probably have to wait for it to come out with a future update.
