48 hours with 9z: Frankkaster and the creation of an esports giant

A few weeks ago, the Obelisk glowed purple. Color can be quickly associated with themes linked to the genre. But this time, the sense of tonality taken by the symbol of Buenos Aires has to do with something else: The 9z Team became the first Argentine team to qualify for the Antwerp Major in Romania from Counter Strike: Global Offensive.

An isolated event, but also historic. That is why the city government recognized the enormous effort and trajectory of the esports team at the helm of Francesco Postiglione, better known as Frankkaster; one of the pioneers in the world of gaming, esports and streaming.

The 9z Team performs in a variety of disciplines, from Counter-Strike Global Offensive (CSGO): Principal at Academy, League of Legends (LoL)LoL Wild Rift, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG)FIFA, Free Fire, fortnite at Bahaghari 6 until Valuable. Within one of them there are different teams (teams) with different players (players) and proplayers (pro players).

In the case of Counter-Strike Global Offensive (CSGO) they have two categories of players. Those in the Principal, who will be propplayers -players who have been in the discipline for a long time and have some expertise-, as is the case in Luca Nidottibetter known as “Luken” in CSGO, and players who are in the Academy, who if we translate it into soccer jargon would be “reserve players”, as is the case in NazzLoL player.

The 9z Team organization currently has GH (Gaming House) where the players stay and live which must adhere to the daily routine programmed by professionals such as a coach, a sports manager, a nutritionist, a cook, a sports psychologist -Lorena Gaivizzo, who is also a CENARD psychologist- and a kinesiologist.

All of these professionals put together the work of each of the players living in Belgrano GH, organizing by person and adapting their schedules so that they have four to five hour training sessions with intermediate moments of rest, that they can eat and rest properly, and at the same time practice some sport or consult a kinesiologist in case of lumbar discomfort, due to the number of hours spent by players sitting in practice and training to play in the different disciplines.

On the whole, they are a large group of men, young people and adults who belong to the organization who obviously have followers who follow them everywhere, the famous. “fandom” which is a kind of fan, harangue and motivation for esports (electronic sports) players.
